4 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech to Fes

Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi n’Tichka – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Your 4 days desert tour from Marrakech to Fes begins with a pick-up from your hotel or riad. We will cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass with its breathtaking landscapes and traditional Berber villages.

Our first stop will be the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and Morocco’s most iconic ksar, known for its appearance in movies and series such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After lunch by the kasbah, we continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping in Skoura to visit the 18th-century Kasbah Amridil. We then travel through Kalaat Mgouna, the Valley of Roses, before reaching the beautiful Dades Valley, where you will spend the night in a traditional riad or hotel.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga (Erg Chebbi Dunes)

After breakfast, we leave the Dades Gorges and head toward the spectacular Todra Gorge, famous for its towering 300-meter cliffs. Here, you will enjoy a relaxing walk through the canyon, a paradise for climbers and photographers.

We then continue our journey south to Erfoud, known for its date palms and fossils, before arriving in Rissani, home to a traditional Moroccan souk where locals trade everything from spices to handmade crafts.

Finally, we reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert and Erg Chebbi dunes. You will settle into your desert hotel, preparing for the next day’s camel adventure.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert Tour – Camel Trek – Overnight in Sahara Camp

This day is dedicated to discovering the beauty of the Merzouga desert. We will visit seasonal Lake Dayet Srij (home to flamingos in the right season), nomadic Berber families living in goat-hair tents, and enjoy traditional Gnawa music in Khamlia village.

In the afternoon, your unforgettable camel trekking in Erg Chebbi begins. Riding through the dunes at sunset is a magical experience, as the colors of the Sahara shift with the fading light. You will arrive at your luxury desert camp where you will be welcomed with mint tea, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, and gather around the fire under a star-filled sky. Overnight in a private tent in the middle of the desert.

Day 4: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes

Wake up early to witness an unforgettable sunrise over the Sahara dunes. After breakfast, we return by camel to Merzouga and begin our journey to Fes.

We will travel through the stunning Ziz Valley, crossing the Tizi n’Talghamt Pass with panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains. After lunch in Midelt, we continue via Azrou to visit the famous Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary macaque monkeys. Our final stop is in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before arriving in Fes, where we will drop you off at your riad or hotel.
